I find it hardest to meditate and pray during tough times or situations that leave us confused and uncertain. Typically, those are the times when you need it the most, but I always find it hard to get back in the routine of things. My mindset often wanders to Never Ever land where negativity multiplies by the second. I think about every negative thought possible, which often leaves me feeling like this journey isn’t working. I have thoughts just like the next person; prayer didn’t work, meditation didn't work, positive affirmations was a fail and the best one yet my healing crystals are not clean. I know you are probably thinking, I thought this blog was supposed to be positive vibes only…. they are coming but first let’s face the elephant in the room.
I am sharing these things with you so that you know, that no matter what your situation is, you are not alone! The constant knot in your throat that leaves a residue of failure on your tongue is one known by many. This is not only a pep talk for you, but for me as well. In the past, I have dealt with difficult times in many ways that never seemed to satisfy my needs. Once I started to meditate, I purchased my healing crystals and changed my mindset I at least felt more prepared for the battle. So what do I now that I am aware of my newly found identity? Take notes warriors; the battle is yours to win!
1. Logoff of all social media platforms (which I started doing today)
2. Find a good book to read, self-help books are good during this time but pretty much anything that takes your mind off of the situation
3. Watch The Secret found on Netflix as well as Youtube (participate in some of the things they tell you to do)
4. Change your mindset. Stop thinking negative thoughts…easy right? I know this will be the hardest part of all. I personally attempt to reverse any negative thoughts I have had throughout the day by writing positive affirmations in my prayer book. One positive thought is more powerful than the any negative thoughts you may have.
5. Find a project/ activity you can do to occupy your time (i.e. the birth of The Highly Sensitive Warrior)
6. Align your chakras by meditating and focusing on each chakra. Youtube has guided meditation videos to balance or unblock your chakras.
This post is not just for you, it’s a reminder to myself that although you may feel down this is only a temporary feeling. You may not control the situation but you definitely can control how you react to it.
